Salvatore Arancio
Born in Catania in 1974, he currently lives and works in London.
He participated to the 15th Premio Cairo, in 2014.
Salvatore Arancio's research looks at nature exploring its most suggestive aspects and relating to the idea of myth and legend, through a multiplicity of languages: from sculpture to photography, from ceramics to video. Nature and science are a source of inspiration and a field of investigation to elaborate and reinvent new forms from which unprecedented visions and scenarios with symbolic references arise. The artist filters his memories creating timeless images, ambiguous and mysterious landscapes, alienating figures with grotesque and disturbing accents and at the same time seductive.
