Andrea Mastrovito

Born in 1978 in Bergamo, he lives and works between Bergamo and New York.

He participated to the VII Premio Cairo, in 2006 and the XV in 2014.

The myths of classicism, the Bible, philosophy, heavy metal music, cinema, art history, current events: Andrea Mastrovito's painting is traversed by a dense web of quotations, references and allusions that transform paintings, collages and videoanimations into fairy tales. Imaginative complexity is matched by executive sophistication, which in visionary installations engages the viewer through hypnotic three-dimensional effects. A constant, sometimes mysterious presence, nature is a privileged theater in which the artist brings together various characters with his alter ego.
