Chiara Peruch
24° Premio Cairo
Mysterious scenarios, clear or gloomy landscapes, mutating subjects in dark or bright tones, fossils, reptiles, amphibians, and everyday objects that acquire symbolic power are the protagonists of Chiara Peruch's painting. Poised between figurative representation and material abstraction, the artist creates imaginative visions, alienating narratives, and dreamlike yet inhospitable views. In her practice, she experiments with various materials from oil to pumice stone, from acrylic to resin, as in Pelle umana delle cose – Guanto (2024), which refers to the mosaic technique in the composition of an everyday glove, thus evoking the tactile sense and the idea of protection.
Born in 1996 in Pordenone, Peruch graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where she still lives. She has exhibited in galleries and public spaces such as the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation in Venice and the Giovanni Fattori Museum in Livorno.
