Dario Maglionico

Napoli, 1986
Shortlist

24° Premio Cairo

Drawing on memories and recollections, Dario Maglionico paints interior scenes populated by characters, sometimes evanescent or faceless, who perform actions at different moments in a suspended time, where past and present coexist simultaneously. These are impressions and reminiscences, first reformulated with 3D models of the settings and then transposed onto canvas with detailed and meticulous painting. This is how rooms and apartments familiar to the artist become the setting for overlapping and multiplied points of view, like space-time reifications, alluding to the variability of the perceptual sphere. A graduate in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, Maglionico (Naples, 1986, lives in Milan) held his first solo exhibition in 2015 and subsequently participated in exhibitions in private and museum spaces, including the Mart in Rovereto and the Stadtgalerie in Kiel (Germany).
