Luca Boffi
24° Premio Cairo
Landscape and territory are the fields of action of Luca Boffi (Milan, 1991, degree in Interior Design from the Politecnico di Milano, winner of the Italian Council in 2022 and the Piano Arte Contemporanea in 2024). His approach is that of a researcher who works firsthand; after all, he combines his artistic activity with work on the farm in Campogalliano, where he lives.
His interventions are concrete and symbolic. Installations that ‘frame’ places such as the Giza desert and encourage us to see them without prejudice, because his goal is ‘to study our perception of the landscape, what people feel when they look at it’. Or interventions that blend in with the vegetation, such as the one in a park in Lerici. Even when his works take the more conventional form of a painting, they are compositions made with natural materials, which he collects and processes to “pay homage to and preserve them.”
